News and Update 25 July 2021

In this heat wave where the temperatures rise up to 50 degrees, it is important that students are aware of the safety precautions on how to avoid getting ill. Group of students gathered and discussed this topic under the guidance of Tahira.

First students mentioned the advantages of the sun as in Vitamin D and curing different skin diseases. One of the students also mentioned the fact that the countries with more sun have less people with depression compared to countries with less sun. They talked about how they prefer to play sports in summers rather than in winters but some preferred the contrary.

After that the students discussed how excess sun exposure can be menacing to the human body. Students came up with issues that can be caused by sunlight which were dehydration, sun stroke, skin burns and skin cancer.

Then the solutions were discussed which included always staying hydrated and avoiding going out in peak heat hours. Also students mentioned about using the sun protection cream and as one of them saw an ad on TV.

This activity was really useful and informative because the heat is going to stay this way in Pakistan until August and now students are aware of the pro and cons of it.
